My Trip to Bear World, Idaho

Hello! It is Zoey here. I want to tell you about my trip in Idaho: last week me and my family went to Idaho. It was so fun! We went to Bear World where I got a bear stuffed animal. It’s name is Cutie Black Bear. Cutie is a girl and she is so cute!

The first thing we did at bear world was drive through the park. I was scared that the bears would eat us. When Mom told me they were used to this, I was still scared a little bit but kind of brave. Of course, we saw bears. Why would it be called Bear World without bears?

Some of the bears were in the road. They were walking in front of our car and around us. It was awesome! There was also a really funny bear that we passed that was just sitting there scratching it’s belly! We laughed and laughed. We saw bear cubs getting fed and one was pacing by the fence because he wanted food, too.

We saw more animals than just bears, though. We saw mountain goats, buffalo, elk, deer, chicken, a hog, timber wolves, ducks, fish, and of course, moose. Next we went to Three Bears Gift Shop (where I got Cutie) because my dad had to get a new hat.

There is a petting zoo also. That is where we saw the chickens and the hog. I got to pet the hog. It’s hair was soft and thin. But wait for it….this is going to be awesome…..I GOT TO PET A DEER!!!!!!!!!!! A man was holding the deer’s horns and a woman was telling him not to but he was doing it anyway. The deer was shaking it’s head back and forth, trying to make the man stop. The man soon stopped but only because he was leaving. I think the deer thought "Bye bully! Ah, man!" When it was my turn, the deer didn’t do what it did to the man. I’ll be honest. I was mad at the man and still am mad at the man.

I didn’t get to pet a fawn. But they had one! What could be more cute than a baby deer/fawn? Not anything!

Bear World also had rides! Me and my mom rode on a spinning bears ride. The ride was short and didn’t go as fast as I thought it would. It made me think that it was kind of a dumb ride. There was also a train and a car ride, but we didn’t have time to ride them.

My dad surprised us with going on the curator tour! A curator tour is when you get to go close to the wildlife and lets you feed the bears and hoofed animals. We climbed into a big truck that reminded me of Jurassic Park because we had to get locked in so we couldn’t get out until the tour was done. The tour guide gave us bins with bread, bagels, and grass chunks to feed the animals along the way. This was the first time I’ve ever fed them!! First we drove past the mountain goats and the bison. Then we drove over to the elk and got to throw grass chunks at them so they could eat a snack.

Next we got to feed the grizzly bears. When the truck stopped for us to feed them, the bears ran up to the truck and some stood up like humans and some sat down and waited.

We saw a huge black bear that was really lazy. He just sat and laid down and waited for us to throw bread right to him and he wouldn’t walk anywhere. He would only move side to side to get food.

Then we saw a moose, but we didn’t get to feed it. Its horns were huge! His name was Stilts!

I say Idaho is a great place for vacation. It was hard leaving, but I missed home so I was glad to be home.

Thank you very much for listening! I love doing blog posts for you! See you at my next blog post! Bye!
